I have had the privilege of working with an amazing group of people across a technology career spanning more than 30 years, with a deep love of entrepreneurship and growing businesses. As a founder I have ridden the highs and lows that come with the territory and successfully founded two businesses that had successful exits into global listed technology companies with the most recent being Instaclustr.
These experiences give me a deep respect for founders and the risk they take to build their vision and a desire to share the benefits of my experience for their success.
Lessons to live by
I have three mantras by which I live by in business:
- You don't need to have all the answers - set the vision and surround yourself with a passionate and dedicated team to help guide you to the right decision
- Have empathy and respect for the team - they are on the same journey as you are
- Be relentless
on the lookout for
I love how technology solves tough challenges, the changes it makes on society and the way we all live and the promise of what we can do in the future. But it is only technology - it requires great people with vision to drive that technology toward solving these challenges. That's what I look for - passionate founders with a vision for using technology in innovative ways.
lasting impact
That my family that I have bought into this world will be a positive contributor to community and reflect that their Dad was good to his friends, family and the people he worked with along the way.
